Drawing is one of the basic tools of any artist. The ability to put ideas on paper and have them make sense is essential to develop and be convincing. As it is with any talent, practice makes perfect.
Natalie uses any medium to do her drawings. They are not usually intended to be works in themselves so much as a coming together of ideas and thought processes, although she has completed several pencil drawing commissions.
As well as the traditional 6B pencil, she also includes watercolour pencil, charcoal, ink and oil pastels in her must have pencil case.
Drawing helps you sound out concepts and overcome unforeseen difficulties. Without it planning and imagining is cumbersome, but with it, the possibilities are endless...
